This Hansville project gave us the opportunity to work with post-color concrete staining and vertical concrete. The concrete patio is curved and bordered, textured with a roman slate pattern. The stamped compass medallion colors were handpainted. A coloring technique known as “antiquing” was employed to both the patio and borders for contrast and a marbling effect.
The finished fire pit appears to be made of layered stone, but is actually a stone pattern resulting from stamped vertical concrete. Vertical concrete is a fantastic product to work with because the material is light and can be easily manipulated.
